Technology huh

As some of you may have noticed my site is having some problems with the speed it loads up at. The hosting providers are apparently working on it so hopefully it’ll all be fixed soon enough. Thanks for sticking with it. Just one of those days After the excitement of Monday, yesterday was a bit of a let-down. I finished at -$575, mainly due to a couple of mistakes (several times assuming wrongly that players that I’d been hammering on

It’s Tiiiiiiiiiiiiime

“This is the moment you’ve all been waiting for!” It’s been a long time coming but Jon Jones finally defends his UFC light-heavyweight title against Rashad Evans this weekend. I don’t really like Jones, but it’s always a pleasure to guys that are right at the peak of their sport. Opinion seems to be that Rashad is the guy with the best chance of beating Jones. This might be true, but having the best chance still doesn’t mean you’ve got

No Team Pokerstars for me this year

Even though I’d been thinking of doing a blog for a while, the main catalyst for me starting up when I did was the Team Pokerstars Online applications. Poker hasn’t been too great over the last few weeks. I got off to a really good start in the first couple

A day in the life

This is a follow on from part one where I explained what my set-up is like and what is involved in playing the game. Here I’m going to explain how it’s possible to make a living from poker and what life is like as a player. There are two ways that I make money from poker. The first is the most obvious one which is by winning money on the tables. This basically involves playing better poker than the other

A swing and a show

I didn’t have much info on him, especially regarding his heads-up play, but I did know that he was on the loose and aggressive side. I’d also been pretty aggressive towards him and he’d seen me betting heavy and stacking off with a wide value range. I’m pretty happy with the play up till the river but then I get one of the worst cards in the deck. Am I chk/folding, chk/calling or just shoving here? Days like today show
